Touch of Italy

I was recently reminded of why “Touch of Italy,” is one of my favorite restaurants in Rehoboth. It was an ordinary work day. I left the office with our team to head to a work lunch. Was I incredibly excited about it? Not really… I mean, how can you really be thrilled about working during lunch? Then they told me where we were eating and my entire countenance lifted. “Well, I guess a work lunch isn’t so bad after all,” I thought. At least not if you’re going to be eating delicious, homemade Italian food!

Little Italy has all of the charm that you’d expect of an Italian themed dining establishment. Except unlike Olive Garden or other chains, this restaurant felt authentic. You believed you had truly stepped into a different region of the world. Wooden floors and beams supported the building packed with dark chairs and linen table cloths. As you walked though the restaurant there is a bar to the right and on the left…. oh what a glorious spot! There are actual food items, pastas, meats and more that you can take home with you to do your own Italian cooking. My favorite part, however, is just past the savory choices. You got it… the bakery.

There have been many times my hubby and I have made a trip to this little bakery inside Touch of Italy just to bring a few treats home. Cream puffs, chocolate eclairs and more fill the class display, just begging to be eaten. A few of our favorites include the amaretto cookie (which is seriously so yummy we could eat a million) or the flag/rainbow cake (which has fruit filling between the layers and a top coat of chocolate).

As for the menu, it is definitely on the same level as their bakery sweets and desserts. It contains the usual food you might expect from such an establishment, like pizza, sandwiches, pastas and soups. I had the Campagnola pizza which came with cheese galore, spicy sausage and red peppers. Would I recommend it??? You bet! All in all, this place is a hit folks. Bring your spouse for a date, bring the kids for a night off from cooking or just come alone. Either way, just come… Your tummy and tastebuds will thank you. They are open every day from 10:30am to 9:30pm on weekdays and 10pm on the weekend. For more information, visit there website by clicking here.
